Project Definition
Inspired by a Weekly Product Design Exercise challenge initiated by Artiom Dashinsky for Airbnb, I embarked on a unique journey to create a distinct travel planning solution. This project focuses on providing a novel traveling product with group planning capabilities, veering away from Airbnb's context.
The Goal
Our mission is to empower users in efficiently organizing group vacations, with a particular emphasis on collective decisions about accommodations and activities. This app aims to foster collaborative interactions within a group, offering a platform where individuals can seamlessly make joint decisions and plan their travel experiences.

Design Process
The design process is based on the Double Diamond Theory. I aim to incorporate the key phases of Discovery, Definition, Ideation and Implementation in most of my projects.

Understanding the Users
To gain a deeper understanding of user expectations and experiences when planning family or group trips, I conducted one-on-one interviews with three individuals. The objective was to explore the nuances of planning in a group context and how it differs from individual travel planning.
Key Insights from the Interviews:
Typically, in group travel, a limited number of individuals are responsible for handling all the financial transactions and bookings, placing a burden on them.
Group trip planning often involves using various applications, making the planning process more complex and fragmented.
Reaching a consensus on travel destinations and experiences can be a challenging aspect of group trip planning, potentially leading to decision-making difficulties.
Competitor Analysis
Upon identifying the challenges faced by users in group trip planning, I embarked on a comprehensive competitor analysis to gain insights into how existing products address these issues. This analysis served as a valuable source of information to comprehend user expectations and uncover potential solutions.
By examining the competition, I was able to swiftly identify essential features, potential pain points, and opportunities for improvement in order to create a more streamlined and user-friendly group travel planning solution.
It's interesting to note that the existing products in the market often lack features related to budget planning and debt sharing for users. To gain a deeper understanding of this gap and explore potential solutions, I conducted a review of other products that specialize in bill-sharing services. This dual perspective has been instrumental in shaping a more comprehensive and user-centric approach to group travel planning, ensuring that users have access to effective tools for budget management and equitable debt sharing.

Designing the Solution
Based on the insights from the user research and understanding the competitors' approach, I came up to my solution:
